I'm a rookie writer enjoying the flow of words sprouting out of my fingers. Sometimes it goes easy, at other times it's a real struggle. I love and crave any kind of feedback, good or bad. I write when I can, but a husband, two kids, 4.2 cats (aging from 15 years to 4 months) do take up most of my time. Yet I found the time to try out something I never thought I was good at. I started writing. I came to love it and enjoy the new friendships I've made with fellow writers I simply adore (well I like the writers, but adore their work *grins*)

Review: Protection: A Bad Boy Stepbrother Romance

Protection: A Bad Boy Stepbrother Romance Protection: A Bad Boy Stepbrother Romance by Vivian Wood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

you're THE star of the moment and your live is basically lived for you, staff to do everything for you, even thinking. after meet and greet number 2564 she's en route to her limo/SUV when a jealous fan manages to grab her and cut some of her hair off. this is the event that starts everything. her tour is in jeopardy and the only way the record label is willing to let it go ahead is when she takes on a security detail.
her last meeting with her mother had a big surprise for her: she was getting married. and her soon to be stepbrother was present too. it came as a big surprise for both of them. not able to cope with anymore BS from her mother she storms out of the restaurant thinking that is the end of it.
the bigger her surprise was when she finds out who is the new head of her personal group of bodyguards, you guessed right, her soon to be stepbrother.
they start their professional relationship strained at best because deep down what either thinks they hate about the other is a force neither of them thought would catch them. still it takes weeks before they stop fighting the feelings and give in. but it all has to stay a secret, specially with their parents' wedding around the corner, a stalker behind a door, a tour date in another city almost every day.
it's emotional to read it and gives you a glimpse of the other side, it isn't always greener as they say. sure money can get you a lot but does it make you really happy? how does a tough former SEAL manage to stay on top of it all? you see both of them change throughout the story, how they open up to each other but also how they battle their own demons.
a captivating story with an ending so no huge cliffhangers!! loved the downtime they spend together, their more steamy times were just that = steamy! it's a good book that lets you dream away for a while before you have to come back to the real world.
