i don't know what it is but no matter what i read from ann gimpel : i love it!
once more this was an excellent woven story that ticked all the boxes i like in a book.
magic is the right word and in this books it's intertwined in everything that's told. it was a joy to read and a sadness when it finished but every story has to come to an end eventually *smiles*
both her parents were magic users, yet she didn't have any magic at all, nada zilg zero, not a single spark! she had a good live, despite her father leaving them years ago, but then she made a big mistake of falling for the wrong guy. a guy who managed to weasel his way into her life and into her home and as a result also into her mothers live.
she was blind to it at first but not long after he moved in things changed, her mother changed and no matter what she did he wouldn't leave!
then there is her friend since ages jeremy, she hasn't seen much of him lately but he somehow must have picked up on things because he calls her in the middle of the night and a day later appears in her chamber, her tightly locked chamber!
together they tackle the mystery that is haunting the house and even more things get cleared up!
if you're an ann gimpel fan you cannot miss this book! it's just too good not to have on your list.
