I'm a rookie writer enjoying the flow of words sprouting out of my fingers. Sometimes it goes easy, at other times it's a real struggle. I love and crave any kind of feedback, good or bad. I write when I can, but a husband, two kids, 4.2 cats (aging from 15 years to 4 months) do take up most of my time. Yet I found the time to try out something I never thought I was good at. I started writing. I came to love it and enjoy the new friendships I've made with fellow writers I simply adore (well I like the writers, but adore their work *grins*)

Review: Bearly Cursed

Bearly Cursed Bearly Cursed by Cara Wylde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I find myself reading quite a few beauty and the beast adaptations these last few weeks. some are far out there, others follow the story quite well.
this one is a bit in between. at 14k this isn't a long read and is nice to spend a few minutes dreaming away.

a bear for lunch?

As promised we're starting with reposting the chapters one by one. Hopefully when I'm trough with the two books Adam's story will be finished too. Fingers crossed :)

Nick - chapter 01

I'm still looking for beta-readers, if you want to join me in this journey please drop a note through my FB page or send a mail to mokkelke.writer@gmail.com

Plan of action is :

  • repost Nick and Chris' stories, maybe what I have of Adam's too.
  • after cleaning up Chris' story (Nick is already done) I'll start working on Adam.
  • start and finish Ed's story
  • finish Merlin's story that will act as a prologue story to the whole saga.
  • during this process I'll try and work on some covers, see if I can find an affordable editor (if you know of any: do let me know or if you are one yourself. it's not a small project, it's a big one.)
  • work the PR treadmill, get some ARC's out there and hope for the best.

Review: Soulkiss

Soulkiss Soulkiss by R.J. Thompson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Olympians! Some are good, some are bad. But what happens when one is out for revenge and another is set to bring soulmates together no matter what?
A sacrifice has torn apart Arcaeus and Thalia but Acraeus is sure he found a way to find her again.
Centuries later Arianna has very vivid and realistic dreams about a mysterious man, clothed as if he were from ancient time. And his kiss? To die for!! After a double date gone wrong Arianna flees and ends up in the temples where she prays to Aphrodite.
Will her prayer be heard or not? To know the answer to that I highly suggest you read the book. It's a heartfelt journey through time and emotions. They find love and loose love, more then once. Will it end, their journey?
Where will it bring them?
It brought them on my kindle to read and I loved the story from start to finish!!

Review: A Secret to Bear (Pacific Bear Clan) (Fated Mates 1)

A Secret to Bear (Pacific Bear Clan) (Fated Mates 1) A Secret to Bear (Pacific Bear Clan) (Fated Mates 1) by Ana James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Scarlet felt lost after her father died. With little left she gathered up a few clothes and set out to go to Strykersford. Something pulled her toward this little town, a lot of the things her father told her revolved around this tiny place and its people. He also told her a lot about bears. Most of it was lost on her as she grew up but now she felt it was time to check out the place.
Before she even arrives she’s surprised by two bears, trying to avoid a collision she gets off road, bumping her head. As she comes too there’s not a sign of the bears instead she comes face to face with Max.
He takes it upon himself to take care of her and help her. Bit by bit she’s starting to piece things together, not they were being kept from her but she had a hard time believing them. It’s when she tells his mother who her father was that things get a bit confusing.
As it turned out her father was well respected in town and they all still grieved his loss. Having his daughter in town now is difficult for many.
Not sure what to do she thinks that leaving is the best thing she can do, but is it really?
Bad individuals from the past come knocking on their doors and a lot happens that put a lot of things at stake.
Will she go away? Will she stay? It’s all up for debate.
This was a very captivating read. Seeing how they grew together so quick. Another masterpiece from Karolyn and Ana.

Always After Dark: The Box Set Books 1 - 4 Always After Dark: The Box Set Books 1 - 4 by Elle Thorne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Tiero's love is worth fighting for!
Elle does it again. Male or female, you don't mess with a Tiero. Fighting ancient pack rules one by one, the siblings fight for their right to have a true mate. I won't tell much more but simply state that if you loved the other books by Elle Thorne, this is a must read! We even have known characters visiting here and there.
