I'm a rookie writer enjoying the flow of words sprouting out of my fingers. Sometimes it goes easy, at other times it's a real struggle. I love and crave any kind of feedback, good or bad. I write when I can, but a husband, two kids, 4.2 cats (aging from 15 years to 4 months) do take up most of my time. Yet I found the time to try out something I never thought I was good at. I started writing. I came to love it and enjoy the new friendships I've made with fellow writers I simply adore (well I like the writers, but adore their work *grins*)

Review: Off the Charts

Off the Charts Off the Charts by Anna Lowe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

you could say it's a typical how-it-all-started-story, however it IS a fun and a nice read. it lets you see a side of people that's always mysterious. what makes them tick and how they decide things. sparks fly when these two meet and it doesn't take long before those sparks are heating up the room!!
a beautiful addition to start of this series.

Review: Wrecked: Studs in Spurs

Wrecked: Studs in Spurs Wrecked: Studs in Spurs by Cat Johnson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Take it as it comes - Wade is surprised when he meets CeCe. The attraction is sizzling and what starts of as a one night stands grows into more. question will be can and do they want to make it work?
a lot of emotions play in this story. self proclaimed single guy enjoying women along the circuit. CeCe just getting out of her marriage, battling with her emotions. a tale of two unlikely people coming together, enjoying each other. it was well written, natural to read and certainly hot to read. after reading this story you wished you had a wade of your own, he's as wicked and naughty as they come!

Review: Earth's Requiem

Earth's Requiem Earth's Requiem by Ann Gimpel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It was my first book by Ann Gimpel and I like it!
First things first, I only gave it 4 stars because in the first quarter the few flashbacks didn't really fit with the pace of the story. Personally I would have seen them all worked into a longer prologue chapter which told us more how things were before jumping to the present day. That's my only "negative" thing to say.
A lot has happened to mankind, magic is no longer something mythical but something real, same for creatures that go bump in the night. Those have taken over earth and practically culled all of mankind, only those left with a high level of magic in then.
Aislinn is one of those people that has seen her father and mother succumb to the Vortex, an evil portal to sucked up all the humans lured and brought there by the Lemurians. When it's her turn to choose, she chose to work for them and live. Used for three years, things starts getting out of hand and her courage is growing.
When she runs into Fionn all bets are off. The chemistry between them is sizzling. I can't blame him having to have waited this long for her. Together with their bond animals, they start to unravel what males the Lemurians and Dark Ones tick and they try to come up with a plan of action.

It's a very nicely woven tale of friendship, trust, love and betrayal. It's a longer read, so be prepared to be swept away for a while when you dive into this dark world Ann has created. As in every story (and relationship) there are up and downs, good days and bad days, this story shows them all. The female lead isn't a push over, nor is Fionn and that creates some heated debate (not always a debate but yeah, you get what I mean)

If you like mythical, dangerous, good paced stories this one should really be on your to-read-pile!!!

Review: Overture

Overture Overture by Kallysten
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a very nice read. a female vampire as leading character, it's thrilling to get in her mind as she tells her story. how her emotions can change from one minute to another. sounding ruthless one moment, complimentary in the next.
we join Irene as she sets out to Paris where she visit a bar suggeted to her by Lilah, one of her offspring. What she finds there as her emotions on a short roller-coaster ride. the pianist is playing her music, music she wrote over a century ago. how will she handle this?
if you would like to know, then go grab a copy and join us when we find out more about irene and her pianist!
